The Contract Tarot – Ten of Virtues and Cosmic Principles

Tens are about ends and beginning again. They are the bridge between the culmination and fulfillment of the journey ending in success, showing us lasting relationships and testing our endurance and that of the beginning of a new path, a different journey which will begin as soon as our awareness reaches completion of the old.

Let’s look more closely at this card.

We see a waterfall as our background. It flows quickly and over different layers of rock. Water is a universal solvent. It operates to break down and break through anything over time. We have come through this journey and it’s many layers and are breaking down our relationships and becoming aware that the lasting relationships, through all of what has come before, are the most important and they will sustain us as we go.

Below this is the word success and, if you look closely, you will see figures helping each other reach success. This is celebrating the success we find together. Family groups or groups of friends that have a common focus or goal reach success together. Consider collaboration and cooperation; true success is forged in the fires of both.

Below this figure is the picture of a Yew tree and the word here is Endurance. Yew trees are usually found in graveyards. They are toxic to most animals and humans and yet, there is medicine to be found in them as well. They signify danger and death on one hand and long-life and rebirth on the other. Yew trees have been known to survive many centuries. They endure. This tells us that we can be toxic on one hand and yet, healing on the other. Our enduring relationships work in spite of the toxic features of our personality. Some relationships survive centuries through generations honoring family ties.

The symbols above the ‘C’ are Mars in Pisces. The symbol above the ‘P’ is Water.

The Tree of Life path is Malkuth (kingdom) in Beriah (creation).

What do you see in this card? How would you interpret it?

Until tomorrow… Love, light and blessings!

28: Trailblazing… a different perspective

I started today quite pleased that I had successfully created 3 out of 78 of the Tarot cards. The Fool, Death and The Universe cards are three of the main characters in the book I am writing.

Several things struck me about these three cards.

They are all part of the same endless cycle.

There is newness in every day, in every task we undertake, in every breath, in every person we meet.

There is death in every day, in every occurrence of surrender, in everything we throw away, in every character we delete from the page, in every day when we arise.

There is completion of tasks, a finality to every day, to every project, to every endeavor, to childhood.

The perspective is different every single time. Nothing is the same except the cycle. How you choose to enjoy this never ending journey is where true joy or deep despair can be found. Do you embrace newness, change, difference, breathing? or do you find yourself rigid, resisting and holding your breath? Give yourself permission to breathe! Give yourself permission to experience and find wonder, beauty and joy!

Today, I have drawn the 6 of Disks – Success! I am using the Thoth Tarot illustrated by Lady Frieda Harris.

This card is beautiful and full of magick!! Just look at it… it looks like a supernova! Can you see the layers, the depth, the beautiful colours and striking textures? The sharp stiletto of the points of the star… the soft, rounded edges to the circles… the beautiful rose in the centre is so full of brilliant!

There is so much to see here in this dominantly hexagram shaped image. First, the Rosy Cross in the centre. This is the Sun in Tiphareth showing 49 blue-lined petals on five red-lined squares. This is surrounded by the six planet orbs arranged in a formation reminiscent of the Tree of Life. The energies of Geburah (severity) and Chesed (mercy) within Tiphareth (beauty). This is the Moon in Taurus in a happy arrangement.

This card is all about success. There is balance and fertile energies manifesting in the material world.

This card speaks to me about success but not in a get-rich-quick way. The layers I see are bubbling with energy and lie behind the brilliant image to which our eyes are immediately drawn.

This card is telling me to lay firm foundations (the very deep colours of the background in this card – it looks like the colour of soil that has been furrowed and plowed).

This card also tells me that great energy is required to get things going (the red-orange colour of Taurus) and to keep things sustained (the blue colour of the Moon) before, in a brilliant explosion of everything coming together to transform action into something of substance (the stiletto rayed explosion of the star), success can be manifest and found (the brilliant image of everything ordered to produce the light of the Sun – the Rosy Cross representing Tiphareth).

Success can be sweet but it can also come with thorns and needs to be respected and handled carefully. All the energy expended to create success can exhaust and weaken the participants to a point where success cannot be maintained. Weeds will grow and choke off further growth and development if success is not tempered with planning for viability and sustainability. Fertiliser is occasionally needed, hoeing is required, sometimes supports are required to help hold up the heavy blooms that sweeten our garden. Watering is needed, praise from the light of the sun and cool breezes to temper the heat of the day.

How do you perceive success? Is it a brilliant explosion borne from energy and action? Is it the end result of laying a good foundation and planning for viability and sustainability? How do you measure success? What does it look like to you?

Until tomorrow… Love, light and blessings!

18: Pathfinding… putting it down

I found myself this morning with a heavy head… the muse was working overtime and filling my head with so much ‘stuff’ I am going to have to put it down in the computer today. So, I know today will be taking my heavy head and letting it work through my hands until the text is complete… a brain dump today.

I have been consolidating resources and have found a great free site to learn astrology involving tarot. It is SuperTarot! I keep thinking the gentleman who owns the site should be wearing tights and a cape and standing very tall as he announces the arrival of “SuperTarot!” Paul Hughes-Barlow appears to be credible. I don’t know him personally. But the site looks good and he breaks down astrology in a logical and easy to understand sequence. Those of you who want to learn astrology might want to check out his site!

For numerology, there is a site, The Vibration and Meaning of Numbers, which I have found greatly helpful, especially with numbers that repeat themselves, Angel/Master Numbers.

For colour, depending on your culture, I have found Color Wheel Pro: Color Meanings to be helpful. For shapes, Simple Symbol Meaning, is a start. For sacred geometry, I have found a good introduction at Introduction to Sacred Geometry.

There is a lot to find out on the net. I hope you will find some of these links helpful. A lot of what I have found separately, can be found in various other paid sources from books to courses. I tend to find information for myself where I can and use books as reference material.

So, I have shared some of the sites that I use with you and now I must do my card draw for today.

Today, I have drawn the 6 of Disks – Success! I am using the Thoth Tarot illustrated by Lady Frieda Harris.

Immediately, I am feeling quite hopeful and happy with this draw. As always, let me first tell you what I see.

I see a six-pointed star (hexagram) that is behind a six-petaled rose, that is behind a circle with six circles orbiting, that form a hexagon-shaped outer ring. In the centre is the sacred rose representing the Sun. Four circles lie beneath the hexagram and two larger circles lie beneath these four. It is a multi-dimensional object. There are planet glyphs in the six small orbiting circles. They Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, the Moon, and Mercury. The Moon is in Taurus for this card.

This card is so full of prosperity and success that it cannot be denied. It is success of the mind and the hard-work put into making something manifest. Mind and manifest. Those words are inextricably linked as a partnership of evolutionary proportions. What you hold in your mind, you manifest in your life. It is so.

This is a comfortable and fulfilling card and I am hopeful my day will unfold, my muse will speak and I will progress my project forward in leaps and bounds.

Until tomorrow… Love, light and blessings!
